Botox and Dysport are neuromuscular relaxing agents that assist in wrinkle reduction and strength. They can be used in between the eyes, crow’s feet, forehead and upper lip lines. Results vary but success can last 3 to 4 months.  These products are an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of the whole face.

Injectable HLA fillers- Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, Restylane, & Perlane products contain hyaluronic acid as an injectable gel to correct and enhance the smile lines, upper lip lines, laugh and expression lines. A nonsurgical face lift, with little or no down time. Results vary from person to person, but can last up to 18 months with continued improvement in collagen building and wrinkle reduction over time. They not only fill a defect but assist in plumping collagen to improve overall facial tone and texture.

These products can also be used to correct acne scarring, loss of volume from weight loss and overall enhance your natural facial beauty.

Important Safety Considerations of Perlane® and Restylane®

Perlane® and Restylane® restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). After your treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, and tenderness. This will normally last less than seven days. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. If you have had facial cold sores before, an injection can cause another outbreak. In rare circumstances, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use Perlane® or Restylane®if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years of age, you should not use Perlane®or Restylane®.

Perlane® or Restylane® should not be used by people with previous bad allergies, particularly to certain microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria; by people with previous bad allergies to drugs that have required in-hospital treatment; or by people with bleeding disorders. Perlane® or Restylane® should not be injected anywhere except the skin or just under the skin.

Patients should be limited to 6.0 ml per treatment. The safety or effectiveness of Perlane® or Restylane® for the treatment of anatomic regions other than nasolabial folds has not been established in controlled clinical studies.

The use of Perlane® or Restylane® at the site of skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection should be postponed until healing is complete. Use of Perlane® or Restylane® in these instances could delay healing or make your skin problems worse.
